After retreatment of the upper left 5th tooth, gum swelling persisted. Our examination revealed that the nerve of the upper left 4th tooth (adjacent tooth) was necrotic. Root canal treatment was performed on the upper left 4th tooth, after which the symptoms disappeared and recovery was good.
