Specialists in Root Canal Treatment
What is Root Canal Treatment?
Endodontics refers to treatments related to the nerves of the teeth.
There are broadly two types of treatments.
・Nerve Preservation Therapy (treatment that preserves the tooth nerve)
・Root Canal Treatment (treatment that removes the tooth nerve)
Generally, treatments that involve the removal of cavaties and restoration of the tooth with plastic or silver fillings are referred to as conservative treatments. However, there is no clear boundary between these conservative treatments and those involving nerves, and the necessity of nerve-related treatment depends on the size and symptoms of the cavity.
For clarity, our clinic often refers to itself as specializing in root canal treatment, but we provide specialized care for all aspects of endodontics.
Once the tooth nerve is removed (via root canal treatment), the tooth's lifespan inevitably shortens due to various factors. To preserve your natural teeth as long as possible, prevention is crucial to avoid root canal treatment whenever possible.
Even if you develop a cavity, if it can be treated early with conservative treatment, or can be treated without removing the nerve, even if the cavity becomes large, the time you can use your teeth healthily can be extended significantly.
